Do any of you guys coat your plastic with armorall, or if you use a different wax or spray, let me know how it works for you. I was told armorall works well but i'd like to have some of your oppinions. Thanks.

Yeah... I coat my red 400ex with armorall... It seems too work great. I always have to give it a couple coats though. The only downfall to using armorall is if you ride in dusty or sandy conditions the plastic gets dirty reel quick cause the dust and the fine sand sticks to the armorall.
It's nice if you want to make your quad plastic look somewhat new again, and also serves as a good protectant.

Yeah but using armoral.. Everytime you touch the fender you'll end up with that shizznit all over you... I would think...
If you got to auto zone, pep boys, etc. they have a polish called plastic polish. I originally used to use it on my mirrors I had on my astro van but it works on the plastics just as good...

I usually use the little armoral wipes. I use the cleaning ones first then go back over it with the protectant wipes. Looks real good.

I put it on mine once and I accidently got some on the seat. Man Let me tell you 4th gear pinned in a power slide is not the time to have a slick seat.:blah

I spray WD-40 under the fenders and all over the motor and chassis. It keeps mud from sticking.

I wash it off after every race so it's not there when I work on it.

I wash mine after every ride. I jsut want something to protect the plastic and making cleanup easy.

As far as spray-on stuff, I use WD-40. I get the best results from Future floor wax. Just put 2 coats on, and it'll shine for 4 or 5 washings. It looks just like new plastic. Apply it with a sponge and you won't get the runs like you will with a rag.

I use formula 2001, its not as greasy as armoral. I used to use son of a gun, but I cant find it anywhere. Oh by the way, I get the forumla 2001 from Wal-Mart.
Posted by: shamisc
Steve-o, you should be able to get it from your local grocery store or Wal-Mart.

Ok thanks.
I just got done taking the warning signs off of my fenders.:devil
Posted by: nacs400ex
Steve-o 400EX got any pics with the warning signs off? I was thinking about doing it myself too. How did you do it? I assume you just drill out the rivets, and did you just flip them around?
Thanks
Craig

I usually use Formula 2001 or Black Magic Tire Wet in the spray bottle or foam. Either one works really well. The tire wet makes all the dirt and mud just slide right off.
