I bought a Brute 650i about 7 weeks ago. I didn't purchase the extended warranty. Was this a mistake, and if so should I try to pursue buying the extenede warrant now if I can.

You have until the very last day of your normal warranty to purchase the extended warranty. I'd what until then to purchase it.
