Anyone think it's worth buying an 08 525 xc for 7400. I found a local one that has low hours(it looks very clean and an older guy who said he hardley rode it) but am worried about any little problems. Also, the warranty would transfer over to me which would solve any problems.

Great threads and replies, thanks for all the good information on the site.

I found a new 08 525 or 450 for 7200, is that a better deal. The used one has KTM beadlock wheels and a steering dampner, about $700 in upgrades. Just worried about buying a used bike. Can someone give me some advice.

A used bike isn't a bad route to go. Just ride it and make sure it feels right. I'd probably get the used one since it has already got some stuff done to it.

It really depends upon the condition of the used bike, if its a clean bike with low hours then your fine, but if its dirty and just a hunk of junk then obviously you wouldnt wanna buy it

Just check the simple signs, oil, filters ect. If it looks and feels good, buy it.

Sounds great just listen to it run, as long as the engine oil isnt black and the engine doesnt rattle, then that is a killer price ktm all the way
