70cc kit Metrakit or Polini?

Well movin to the 70 production class... any advice?

MK is a rock solid choice, but many seem to prefer the Polini.

Both are nice upgrades..

One factor right now is availability of the MK cylinder and pipe.

Can't go wrong with either one

How does the metrakit kit compare to a stock 70? By the way Id like to speak to ya about getting a 70 shipped to 48837.
Preferably liquid cooled and no doubt dual a arm.

The "bat line" 561-676-1535

MK blows a stock 70 away....

Sent you a PM with the info you requested...

We are going to run an OEM ported cylinder with a Snyder MX pipe...

Better choice for our lower RPm inexperienced rider..

Power/rpms are no good unless rider can use them.

Check lap times on the the 50cc riders that also run a 70cc class..

In many cases the times are very very close....the rider has the limits more so than the quad.

Build the quad to the rider, not vice versa is my advice to everyone

Yah I cant disagree with that but not sure how to plan for next year.. things were too damn equal last year. And winter is our only time to get ready. After that between my son, daughter, and I racing its hard to expeiriment. It seems that now that were going to have 70 classes in district 14 (michigan) and thats where most are headed as opposed to 50 production. My oldest racer has aged out of the 50 limited class and one boy in the upcomming 70 class (who has people on this site) has a huge head start in equipment and I definatly cant discount his talent.
Also we have suspension to deal with......

GARY DID U TRY THE SNYDER PIPE ON A MK CYL. DID IT WORK.

MK cylinder blew up before we got the chance to..

10mm pin version ate up the connecting rod bearing...

Been there, done that 3 times this year!

Gary,

Spoke to you a few times via telephone and I appreciate the advice below of giving too much power to the youth until he/she is ready. That was my thread on the Mini ATV section of this forum. First year racer this Spring 2009 and was debating how power to give him initially or wait until he is full bore and needs more?

How much power difference between having the stock cylinder & head port & polished versus and aftermarket MK or Pol cylinder and head. With aftermarket cylinder & head I'll need a different pipe, but with machining stock cylinder & head (70 cc) can the DRR 90 pipe be a worthy choice on a 70cc? Need some credible advice beefore spending this Winter in preparation a racing in the Spring. Thanks.

Yes the 90 pipe will work nicely, but the aftermarkets kits are hard to beat...

The 70cc range offers the most bolt on performance right now

Really hard to beat the top guys with an OEM cylinder....

You would be respectable, but just wouldn't have the same power.
