is the air adjustment screw the one right behind the air filter connection on top or the one on the side of th card that has a spirng behind it

The nurl knob with the spring is your idle screw. The air screw is on the front end of the carb, and the butt end of your screwdriver will be pointing towards the front of the quad if you are on the right one. Small adjustments and plenty of monitoring is the key.
