Seriously Disappointed

Ugh.... 5th race of this young season and the DRR 90 I bought new in March has ruined a swingarm and a rear shock. I bought the quad new but it had the '07 round swingarm on it and until this weekend I was completely unaware of how they bend and how badly they can destroy a shock. The swingarm started to bend during Saturday night's SX moto 1 and it got worse the boy still managed 2nd overall and on Sunday's MX race he finished 3-2.... After leading the last half of moto 2 the continually bending swingarm finally bent enough to allow the chain to pop off and dashing his dreams of actually winning a moto. We were able to get the chain off and he continued and was able to hold off all but the rider who passed him while he was disabled and crossed the finish line in 2nd to claim his first overall victory. The DRR ran like a machine possessed and he actually finished the last two laps with the rear shock bent and binded up due to the swingarm so essentially he was jumping wide open with no rear suspension. My hats off to the boy for putting in a valiant ride and to the other parents at the track whom helped us throughout the weekend.

Unfortunately, as everyone knows racing is super expensive and after just purchasing an ATV Fourplay/Fox front end money is awfully tight and we can't afford a "top of the line rear end" rear just yet. I really hope DRX can come through and help us out on this problem as his next race is next Sunday, July 6th which also happens to be his 9th birthday. So I either look like a "super dad" for getting it back together or like a total disappointment because I couldn't get my kid on the track on his birthday.

If you cant find a solution,I have a stock swingarm (it is the earlier design that was shorter but didn't have the bending problem) and a good rear shock. If you need them I will get it shipped to you asap.I wouldn't want to see the little guy not get to race on his birthday.

I appreciate it! I will let you know tomorrow what the outcome is. I contacted my rep and he told me he would look into it for me.

Nevermind guys.... Gary Fallon from DRR Nation really came through for us in a pinch. He already knew about our issue from our rep and is hooking us up tomorrow! How awesome is that!Gotta love great service, great dealerships, and great sponsors!!!!

Gary is awesome when it comes to do with anything DRR related or in general, if there was an award for high service, he should get it,he has helped me a great deal and is a real asset to this forum and for the DRR franchise.....A+++++ all the way...

Agreed. If it weren't for a great deal from him on the ATV 4-Play/Fox front end Austin would not have won today and thats for certain.

Rocky
I will have to 2nd that Bulldog is the best he's always there to help the kids stay on the track

Gary,
I have to say thank you even more then. It's not often there are shops that are like that. Most dealerships have the mentality of once its off our floor its not our problem. I really appreciate the help!

I will be ordering a chain tensioner from you today to have shipped with the swingarm as well.

Great bunch of guys and Gals !! This is why we dropped the Can-am a few months ago and got a new DRX90 from Hot Quads. We haven't sold the Can-am yet because we're still waiting (4 months now) for the replacement rear shock.
