Anyone know the fastest way to Dumont from Los Angeles... I know you take the 15 towards Vegas, but from there I'm lost.

get off in Baker and follow the signs
where the bun boy is

How far is it from Baker.. Trying to see how long it will take me to get out there...

Once you take the turn off from Baker, it's like 45 minutes or so. The last 5 miles are brutal, the road is a terrible washboard.

Is it worth the drive... Do I need anything else or is it like Glamis. Is there somewhere for gas just in case, a store, etc.

Baker is the closest civilized place. There are a couple towns a little closer (like Tecopa Springs), but they don't have any services there.

Thanks guys... I have already planned another trip to Glamis the 13-15.. But after I come back mayby I'll plan a trip for the beginning of Jan....

****beware*****
stuff in baker is hella expensive. i went through baker on my back from dumont.
skoal-- $9,15 a can
ragular gas-- $1.99
premium gas-- ~$2.30
there is quite a few fast food places and such. like he said its about 45 min or a little less to dumont. there is about 3 miles of dirt road. it wasnt washboarded too bad over the weekend. there were hella ppl there last weekend, well i guess i havent been there on a non-holiday weekend, so it seemed to be a bunch.

Str8Wicked,
The next big weekend is President's Day, mid Feb, I think. I haven't been to Glamis yet, but Dumont is lots 'o' fun... just keep your head on a swivel!! There's lots of people out there that ride way over their head (especially at night), and a lot of parents that put their young kids on FAST bikes. This Thanksgiving, I saw the ol' flight-for-life chopper land twice, and I was only there Friday and Saturday!

I heard it's small there compared to Glamis but has some mean huge dunes...
Posted by: Glamis400ex
It is way small compared to Glamis. Whole area is like 5 square miles, no chit. But, there are some very steep dunes and Comp is way tall also.....you can't miss it.

When i roll to Canta mar, Mexico it is also very small. Only like 3 square three miles but damn do we have fun on the beach there... Just goes to show to have fun you don't need the biggest place out there....

I Live up here in Reno Nevada, all i have is sand mountain which is good but gets boring after so many trips. Last March and November i went to Dumont with my family, and let me say the 8 o' clock drag races and the funnest thing ever. Peace =)
