fuel tank vent problem

My friend told me to losen the fuel cap once in a while to let air in the gas tank or it will stall. Electric vent velve not working? He had it back at the shop twice,but still has problems stalling. Open the gas cap and it will run fine. Not safe for steep hills. Anyone have this problem yet? Can tank be vented another way? 07 650 Brute Force. Thanks for any info.
