2005 660 grizzly pinion seal

my buddy has 05 grizzly and the front pinion seal is leaking, whats it take to fix this, pretty mechanicaly incline, just never been in the front end on a 4x4 quad, is this a common problem with the gizzly? any direction would be helpful. thanks
