Yeah, Silver Lake Sand Dunes let ATV's ride...

Yup, silver is the only dune area. There are a bunch of places to run up north. Not much south

Ya man, I think silver lake is about the best place to ride in michigan if you like the dunes. The people there are reall cool. Me and my buddies usually go everyother week. It takes about 4 hours from where im at. But its all worth it. Just make sure if you go you get state parks sticker and an orv. Later

I've heard a lot of bad things about silver lake dunes. Be sure to get there early I guess there's usually a line. Carry paper work to your quad or dirt bike with you. Some people are having them confascated because of no paper work.

i go there every weekend i can. I have to say its about the coolest place to ride in michigan. I have never been asked for paper work. Usually there isnt a big line, only when its a big weekend. There is tons of parking, and i garintee even if there is a line you will be in about 10 mins. The only way they will impound your vehical is if they catch you under the infulance or you ride out of the bounderies. I guess youll have to just try it out.

lol from muskegon north there are so many places to ride dude i am jealous.................. go to michigan dnr webpage and look at recreational vehicles and then under riding areas and it will give you a map and info about it.................

what do you mean when you say a line. what is the line for

Posted by: 4004life

the line is to get in the parking lot. from the parking lot you go to the dunes. You have to be there to really get it. its really hard to explain.

There are no dunes up north, you go to Silver lake or you go west young man..... haven't you been told California's filled with whiskey, women & gold....(sand) that is....

How many of you guys ride with paddles? We plan on making one trip up this year, but are a little leary about getting stock with my stockers. Will we be okay?

I don't plan on riding there alot, so if it is not worth getting paddles I won't but if I should then I will.

Oh, and if I do need tires, can I can them from someone there, or should I order them before hand?

You'll probably have much more fun w/paddles, but they are not totally necessary @Silver Lake. You will be able to climb all the hills, but don't look forward to riding wheelies in the sand or drag racing.

yea from the parking lot you have to go over the "big" hill to get in thats why theres allways a line cause the crazy truckers try to make it over and end up gettin stuck a lot of the time
the 1st hill is the best to try and wheelie up , but it dosent feel good when your layin on your back holdin up your quad with your feet
