alright this might sound really stupid but where do i drain, fill, check my transmision oil. I read to use the same oil as i do in the motor but i looked over the bike and could only find one drain plug and one oil fill and one dipstick/ sightglass (well sightglass)
i feel stupid for asking this but i gota make sure
thanks

It is on the oppisite side as the engine oil drain. It is on the side of thr case not the bottom. It is towards the rear in the corner. It is the only 12mm bolt that has a sealing washer on it.
The check bolt is a 10mm on the side of the case about 1/2 way up. It also has a sealing washer on it.
I can post pics tonight if you need them.

here it is the right side is the clutch side it has its own drain and fill. the drain is right behind the rear of the brake pedal on the side of the case the fill is the blake plastic piece on the right side. there is a small 10 mm head bolt with a phillips head slot in it halfway down the case just below the the fill hole. that is the level check hole you fill it until oil flows out of it.
now on the right side of the bike there is another black fill cap for the motor side. under the bike middle towards the rear of the case there is a 14mm head bolt i believe and that is the drain for the right side. you fill that side till the oil is in the middle of the lines on the site glass.
I hope that helps also i do not use the same oil honda manual says yes but i use spectro clutch saver on the clutch side and spectro 10-40 on engine side

so the motor side is the left side and the trani side is the right
fill the motor side using the black plastic cap, the drain underneath and the see glass.
drain the trani by loosenign a bolt behind the brake lever. check by pouring into hole with black plastic cap (same as motor oil just different side?) checkwith bolt on same side .
does that sound right.
yes pics would definately be appreciated.
thanks

You're welcome, always glad to share the knowledge. That way you can fix your own quad instead of letting some retard at the dealer touch it.

I see you've done a lot more to the 450 since I sold you those handle bars. How do you like it?

how much oil does it hold, and what weight do you use(10-40)? And does anybody know were the oil pick up for the motor is? on the front or the rear of the motor. The reason im asking is i was wondering if doing long weelies will starve the motor of oil if the oil pick up is in the front if the motor.
Thanls for the help

I have heard from 2 honda dealerships, and even called American Honda out on the west coast.. they said for the best transmission oil for racing the 450r is 85/80w 2-stroke oil. Have you guys heard the same thing too?
