Can you weld a small crack in the ccase????

I have a 1/4 inch crack where my clutch is on the left side of the case. Is it possible to weld that successfully? Will that hold? Is that even a good idea?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

it could be welded but it might not hold. jb weld would probably do just about as well imo. it just kind of depends if its on a flat surface or in a bend. it would be worth a try if its the center case and you keep on eye on it.
