Bolt next to Oil drain

So I just changed the oil on my daughters 90 and I opened up the bolt next to the oil drain. Out poped a Spring and shaft with holes in it. Not really sure how it goes back together so Any Ideas what it is for? I put the black end of the shaft in first then the spring followed by the bolt. Seems to make a little more engine rattle then used to. Is this right?

That is you cam chain tension spring.

While you had it out you should have cleaned the cam chain tensioner and made sure all the oil passages were open. There is a run-out tolerance for it, and a spec for the spring as to when you should replace.
I have the manual of you would like the specs.
When you do pull the tensioner out--
There is another bolt head plug next to the gear shift that the manual says to pull and add "over 1cc of oil".
Without that oil?
Easiest way for me to add that little 1cc of oil is to turn the quad over on it's side.
