I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times, but will the 86 ATC 250r rear shock and linkage bolt right on the quads?

yup but i believe the shock valving is a bit different.

the rear shock is different, valving, spring, but most noticably the top mount width(wider), length of the resourvar hose(shorter) and angle is goes at. The linkege parts are the same as 86 trx250r and the only piece different with 87-89 is the length of the dogbone(besides the different bolt that goes on the swingarm of 88/89's). Make sure its a 86 linkege, collars, bushings and bottom bolt are a smaller diameter on 85's. 85 and 86 did share the same length dogbone, frame linkege bolt, and swingarm linkege bolt, thats the only similarity. A 85 bottom shock bolt is 12mm, 86-89 bottom shock bolt is 14mm(I believe, diffenitly bigger than the 12mm size) w/ a step down to use a 12mm1.25pitch nut.
