considering I paid $8500 for mine. I bet they'll be $10,000. even at that its a good deal when you look at what they put on it.

deff, the frame is already on the XC bikes and the engine is out of a dirtbike, so there really shouldnt be too many 1st year problems i dont think, hows yours holding up?

I've only rode it an hour. I just got the motor built up by Frank Batista. its been at Rath Racing for awhile. they've been using it to build some parts. i'm hoping to practice with it saturday if it doesn't rain here.

This show start on 8th May in Barcelona, is thi biggest national Motorcycle and ATV show and there will be the new SX, yes.

I'll post some pics on this weekend.

Is that engine going to be a bolt in engine for the ktm 525 xc or are the mounts differant?

Is the ktm even worth it? Yfz 450s go for $7000. Put $5000 into the yfz and you probably have somthing overall better than the stock ktm.

Like I said Cali.

MSRP around here is about 8600 for an 450xc quad. Which in Cali its

450 XC* . . . . . . . .$10,698
525 XC* . . . . . . . $10,998

Just getting this straight for those people who are freaked out about the price tag. It doesn't pertain to us all. That's a Cali dealership which is totally different from ktm itself. His post on that forum was just a mer advertisement.

Just for the lt kit, youd prob be looking at 3500. The tires & rims (dont forget they are beadlocks.) another 800. Any engine mods, pipe, and small things like killswitch, nerfbars. It adds up.

But ya. it is high for a stock quad. even if it is worth it. that sucks. I think only serious racers will want it.

If you look, +1 steering stem, 50" wide stance, +1 swingarm, bars. All of those is what you spend 5 grand on getting and putting together. I would much rather get a bike that has all those parts on it when it buy it. Its just that much less work and that much more riding. Basically its only about 800 dollars more.

Wow that this is literally out the door to the track and even has nerfs. One thing you have to consider though with a other name brand quad like honda or yamaha you can get the long travel parts you want and make it perfect for you and with this you get one certain brand and im sure ktm isnt getting the best of the best parts for this quad.

Yes you can build a quad with certain parts, but does any of the other bikes come with a chromoly frame? The A-arms and swinger are also chromoly, just as good as any aftermarket part. I would bet that ktm has done r&d to make sure there stuff is the best. I would bet you see a factory mx team taking these bike like they are to the track. Yea you will have to revalve the shocks for you, but the rest of the bike won't need any attention. This is the beginning of the end for aftermarket companies I fear. Just like the factory bike teams the quads are moving that direction race ready from the showroom.
Im glad to see ktm is pushing foward with two different models, one for mx guys and one for xc guys. Cannondale had the right idea but I think KTM is going to capitalize on it.
