pretty much cut them all off and start over, look here for the absolutely correct way to do it all http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthr...ighlight=laeger ... this guy is close to me if you buy my motor just bring the frame and we'll take it down to vps to build it for you if you want.

WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

I swear the stupidity of some people and this Hybrid thread just pissed me off sometimes.

IF you do a search you'd know. It seems it doesn't matter how many times people say it's a bad idea, someone always wants to do it.

I don't understand people buying 2-strokes then a month later they want to put a fourstroke in it. Why buy a 250R if you don't want a 250R motor?

You know the saying there is a sucker born every minute? It seems like every other minute someone wants to put a fourstroke motor or a CR500 motor in a 250R.

We need to start a sticky with the SAVE the 250R frames from terrible hack jobs and ruin for 4-stroke motors and CR500 motors.
The Stock 250R frames are not able handle the weight and torque of these motors and become junk very fast.

You'd be even less wise to hack up an 89 frame because they are the least in numbers.

Enought ranting - if you want a Hybrid - buy a hybrid built for it - it'll be cheaper and makes a lot more sense. If you do a search you can find a few.

Everybody ends up selling them to go to production machines anyway.

Some people prefer the power band, and feel more comfortable with a 4 stroke powered machine. Myself, I prefer the 4 stroke, but fell in love with the handling that the 250r chassis has, that is why I built a hybrid. And after racing two of my freinds, one on a 450r national quad (built by TC Racing), and the other on a 480 stroked yfz and walking all over them, I dont see myself on a production anytime soon. For some people under the right circumstances putting a yz426 in a quad that is worth 2000 is a much better idea then spending 6500+ to get a properly built hybrid. I do not agree with hacking up a stock frame, but it may be the only option for some people. Just a thought,

Sam

Building a Hybrid isn't cheap. There is a lot more than just slaping a motor in it and going.
