Is the stock muffler built like aftermarket mufflers using a core with packing?

yea, no real need to put a different one on.

If I made it into a shorty and maybe put a fatter core in it depending on the size one thats in it, would it go against warranty?

there is a star shaped baffle right in the middle of the core. If you remove it by grinding the tack welds loose, it would be like an aftermarket muffler with a smaller core I believe.

Got this off a ktm site. Inside ist totaly differant thant i thought. Just gona adda 2.25 core and make the mufler into a 8" shorty.
