I just installed a new Athena 500cc big bore kit on my 07 ltr. Now it backfires on the decerleration. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? (its not timing i am sure of that) Thanks.

Not trying to insult your intelegence, but sounds that the map needs some work.

go ahead i am just looking for a solution lol. That definately is something that i was considering because i have a power commander also and i figured the mapping could be off since the compression changed so much. What about the value gap? could that be a reason?

Yea,if you have not re-mapped it from stock bore then that is your problem.Go to www.lt-***********.com and do a search for PCIII maps and you may find one to fit your application.

ha ha it didnt work again. Whats the website? Thanks for that advice. yes it is still running on the stock map because i cant find one for the modifications i have on it plus its like 300 to get it dyno tuned

If you're still on the stock map, it is WAY too lean!

Yes the mapping is definately WAY too lean. I figured out why it was backfiring when i decelerated though, it was because with the big bore kit they gave me the wrong gasket for the exhaust to manifold. it got destroyed and my pipe was comepletely loose. I put the old gasket on last night and it runs perfect.....minus the mapping. Thanks for all of your advice guys i am getting it dyno mapped on thursday.
