Cam and piston, how much diff?

i have a 04 450r with the mods in my signature i was wandering if i put a Stage 2 hotcam and a higher compression piston (still pump gas) how much of a difference will it make? like would it be a noticable difference or would i not really be able to tell?

It would add a lot of pep. If jetted and maintained properly it would still have all the reliability as stock.

there is a guy on here, his name is chad502ex, he has a 12.5:1 piston, and you can run pump with it, and its the best piston pump fuel piston available for the 450r. chad really knows his stuff, and he's a good builder.

How much is his piston, and what is the info on it? i.e. MFG and his modifications? And what cam does he run with it?

I put a CP12:1 piston and an 02 crf cam and the power difference was very noticable. I was going to get one of Chads pistons, but I didn't like the fact that it only had 2 rings. I went with the CP because it has 3 rings. I think CP makes Chads pistons for him.

whats the stock cr on the older 450s? newer ones are already 12:1

I just added a JE 12.5:1 and a HC stage 1 on my 05 and it really woke it up, but now I can't kick it, it almost seems siezed up, but after reading I think I need to adjust my decompression

so how much are chad502ex's pistons and how would i contact and order from him.

And is the kicking a common problem after those mods? would i prabobly have to adjust my decomp. too?

Your compression releif isn't gapped correctly. A higher compression piston won't make it harder to kick.
