i have a 2002 cannondale cannonball and it was rebuilt but it has been sitting in a shed for couple years now and when it runs now the oil pressure builds up quick. when i run it a little bit and then pull the dipstick out the oil comes shooting out
what could be causing this

Hi,

I am guessing that you have one of three things wrong.

1) Too much oil in the system (this should also lead to much oil comming out the breather line into the air filter.) You might want to chech to make sure the vent line is open.

2) I have heard a stripped oil pump gear on the motor can cause oil to back up.

3) Possibly a stuck check ball (the ball setup keeps oil in the frame so it doesn't pool in the motor and cause the motor to hydraulic and seize/self distruct.

Sorry this took so long to get some suggestions to you.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions, or if I can help you.

God bless...

Mark
