Does anyone know:

Are 250R gas caps different on '86-'87 VS. '88-'89?

I am looking for a billet one for my '87 and they all say fits '88 & '89 only. What gives?

Yes they are different. I actually picked up a Tusk billet gas cap for an LTZ for my '86 R. Fits just fine

Any specific year LTZ or are they all the same?

I'm pretty sure any year. My cap has "LTZ/KFX" etched onto the bottom side (you can't see it). I picked mine up for like $25 off from eBay.

or you can use 2 of the rubber seals and that works as well for using the 88-89 cap

I was told a banshee cap woud fit it- Anybody know?
