Anyone riding in the Macadoo PA/ Hazleton area. I rode there a for about 4 years I used to park at the 8Bees campground they would charge us $10 a day but they stopped letting us park there and you have to be a full time member. Now I have nowhere to park, some friends went last summer and tried to park off of 309 and there was a cop camped out there watching. Is anyone familiar with the area is it still cool to ride there and a good spot to park? I know there was a quad shop not to far from there around 309 and 424 I believe it was.

I have a link to mapquest you can see the coal hills from the aerial view on mapquest click on the link then click aerial view and zoom in to level 12 and you will see the areas. Please someone help, you don't have to post so others can see I don't want this to become a hotspot. just shoot me a PM thanx alot

The freeland side of hazelton is no longer free to ride. Got caught last time I was there.

I was riding with a few friends on Saturday 4/12/08. We rode between Rt 81 and Rt 309 in the strip mine they are reclaiming, and across the street all the way to Junedale. We saw no one else.

Have not been busted yet. Never bothered either. Just hours of breathing coaldust. I'll probably get blacklung if I keep going.

Sorry I cant give specifics of where I park/ride, I just know how to get there. Dont know names of roads, next time I go I'll write it all down and send you a P.M. I did wind up in a camp ground by accident this winter, I wonder if its the same place?

Got caught on a sunday. By an official cop, hired to patrol the coal lands. Luckily we got off with a warning.

The camp ground might have been 8 Bees. Was it near Rt. 81? I was riding up there this week end. I ran into a group of about 15 riders. They said they were from Philly, all except 1 girl. She said she was from Hazleton. Cool group of peeps.

Not sure. Next time I go I'll post and maybe meet up. Wont be in the near future though (just brought child #2 into the world).

Go to 8Bees campground and the owner will charge like $20 for you to park and then go run the old Paragon park all day.... That is what everyone else is doing.
Not sure on the legality issues, but they are doing it....
