has any one had a head on a banshee shaved? someone told me to shave it .020 but it does not seem like alot.

The head is shaved on my dads banshee. We shaved it .024 I believe. Compression is around 135psi on a good rebuild.

His employee has it shaved .030 I think, and hasn't had a problem, but I don't recomend it.

Why do you not recommend shaving the stock head?

Shaving the stock head to .030 is fine, and will bump up compression obviously as well as help with low end. .030 is about the most you want to do with a stock head, anymore and you are into trouble..

no, im all for shaving the stock head, but im saying i think .030 is a little high.

yes and no, i supose the most important part about shaving the stock head is know your squish clearance, which is the distance from the piston to the head gap, but depending on the squish and elevation you could go more then .030, the higher the elevation the lower your stock comprssion will be, and without measuring your squish i would not go past .030
