I have a few bottles of Bel-ray synthetic and Castor 927 laying around. I was going to mix up 10 gallons but didn't have enough of any one kind to finish the job. I read somewhere before you can't mix...why is that?

It is generally a bad idea to intermix 2-stroke oil when mixing fuel. The technical term is coagulate, which means the two oils will essentially stick together in clumps and fall out of the fuel mixture. You could end up with two layers in your fuel can and have a very lean mixture or almost straight fuel. Hope this helps!

OK thanks. I knew there had to be a good reason.
