Want more power already...

I have my HMF slip on, K&N, choke removed, air box lid removed, and i'm jetted properly. I'm looking at cheap or free ways to improve on power. I love torque. I want to be able to keep the RPMs up in a tight turn in 3rd and not bog for a second but have it go right away.

Heres what i'm thinking:
-Grind down inside header welds
-Curtis Sparks Advanced Timing Key?

Any suggestions would be great. Eventually I will do 10:1 piston and Stg 1 Hotcam but for now i'm looking for cheap or free HP or Torque. Just a little something to give it more go and less slow lol

thought about it but i'm not about to lose my top end. I love my gearing but I just need some extra power. More throttle response or something.

anyone else have some easy power tips or something? I'm thinking of maybe cleaning up the exhaust ports a little bit. I dont want to take off the valves so i was thinking just do the end portion just a little grinding to take away a little bit of the casting flaws before the exhaust headers. I'm not sure if just doing the end portion and not the whole thing will hurt it or make a difference or not.

Its not real cheap but not to expensive either but what about the Monster coill or whatever they call it may increase throttle response a little just a thought though

Get a Hotcam.

advancing your timing for 20 bucks is probably one of the cheapest ways for now.

i know exactly what your looking for, more snap without having to downshift. The fcr carb is a must do when your ready.Once you get your exhaust situated, dial in your carb, not just going up a size on the main and calling it a day.Dont be afraid to play with clip positions on your needle and vary your fuel screw, most people think the fuel screw only affects idle or 1/3rd throttle, this isnt true.Your bike could feel like a different machine if the carb is dialed.jetting that works for somebody else might not be OPTIMAL for your machine even though it may "appear" to run decent. Its time consuming but its so worth it.The fcr is a beast when you have it dialed but a stock carb can do wonders as well when set up

I have to say get the sparks key but after that i'd look into engine mods.

"Get a Hotcam." - I said above I am putting a stg 1 in later not now.

"advancing your timing for 20 bucks is probably one of the cheapest ways for now." - I'm really thinking about it. I'm going to verify with my nieghbor that messing with the timing wont screw anything up 1st.

"Its not real cheap but not to expensive either but what about the Monster coill or whatever they call it may increase throttle response a little just a thought though" - I was looking at those $68.95, I was looking for something cheaper than that.

I have messed with the needle and such. Is the FCR carb a TRX450r carb?

invest in a 11:1 compression piston, stage 2 hotcam, and a hmf headpipe. not the cheapest but it will bring your motor alive.

I know but right now i'm looking for cheap mods or free mods to just give an extra edge. I have a stg 1 hotcam sittng in my garage right now. Its my brothers and we are using it in our spare motor to build up. Eventually I will go 10:1 Wiseco Piston and stg1 hotcam but I want something in the meantime. I'm not looking to spend over $50. What would be the biggest or best gain for that price range? 450r carb, CS advanced timing key, grind down inside header welds... stuff lilke that

couldn't you bore out your stock carb?
also what about getting for flywheel lightened, does this only help with big bores?
