i was out playing around on my wheeler last night and the pipe was geting red hot, is that normal?

yes many aftermarket headpipes will glow in the dark alot of them are not as thick as the stocker in some cases

Ensure that you are not running it too lean, as it will cause it to run too hot. But yeah, some pipes do and some don't. My ceramic coated sparks pipe never has glowed, but Ive seen some that have.

im running a slightly rich mixture on my 05 YFZ and it often gets so hot that it emits a crazy hot red glow!

the pipes aren't as thick as the stockers for sure... but make sure that if your runnin that hot that you dont punch that pipe with and sort of object!! you'll go right through!
unlikely but easily possible!

dont worry about it! just make sure your not runnin lean. check the plugs!

I have a stock head pipe on my yfz450 and it gets red hot to its normal just hit the gas and enjoy =)

if the pipe glows then your running lean. what jetting are you running and what are your mods?

I have seen slightly rich bikes with glowing head pipes. Some pipes are thinner than others, some glow, some don't but that does not ensure a lean condition.

yeah. agreed. just because its red doesnt mean that it is lean. just a thin metal.
