It runs good with the choke on, but you take it off and it falls on its face and dies. I have had the carb apart three times to clean it, changed the spark plug, cleaned the filter, check the tank vent, replaced the fuel filter. Still going bad. I have been advised that the stator could be at fault, but i want to cover all my bases before I go there. Any ideas?

Ok, third times a charm. I took it apart again and used a jet drill to clean out the emulsifier ports and such along with carb clean. put it back together and ran like a champ for a bit then started flooding bad. took apart the carb again, found out some bonehead left the pilot jet a lil' loose and it fell out. runs like a champ now. Just gotta fix a slight flat spot off idle and we'll be golden.
