okay people here goes a few quick answers to most of the questions you have.

1. buy a manual first. it will be the best money you have ever spent. there are two for the z, clymer and the factory service manual.

2. if your z/kfx/dvx is hard to start and can be pull started. check your valves. they will more than likely be out of spec.

3. with aftermarket part questions such as specs. search for the companies website. they wil have specs. or a contact # for tech.

4. if you are new to the z, do a search for the info first. look through the posts already here. most all of the info you seek is already here.

if anyone has more please post them up. i have more but gotta go out and put on my athena kit.
