How can you tell a 250x from a 300ex at a glance motor wise?

250x-kickstart
300ex-electric start

...plus the reverse lever for the 250x is smaller and closer to the chain guard and the 300ex's is longer/taller and sits above the starter.

No problem. I think the bore and stroke are listed on the side of the cylinder also but I can't remember which is which. Only the stroke is different.
