can u decribe the problem please and is the headgasket leaking or not? sounds like its time to clean the carb and airfilter change plug the minor tuneup things, and go from there if not fixed
Posted by: BKo
ive did all that and i always think its fixed because it will run good for a couple times up and down the drive way then i will get my hemlent to ride it then i get on it and it will just pop and run bad then shift and it will do it in the next gear i can slowly get on it then it wont do it as bad could it be electrical

well i had the air box lid off when i was changing the coil outbecause i have a aftermarket airbox with my battery in it i throw my seat on and took of ran great. so i changed the oil and put it back to gether and took of ran bad again so i took the air box lid of and ran good so it was jetting the whole time does this mean my quad is rich or lean

Since you took the air box off and it ran fine, then it mush have been rich.

Pilot Jet = 0 to 1/4 throttle. Needle = 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. Main Jet = 3/4 to Full Throttle.
Your pilot is probably fine, but the needle and main need adjusting.
I knew all about the concepts of jetting, but had no idea how to actually do it. The "How to Disassemble a Carb" article helped me the most.
