Z 400 wont start after it gets hot

this damn thing runs great then it will die. i go to crank and it and all it does is turns over it wont run until i sits for a bit then i got to hold the gas wide open. any help out there

You need to re-shim your valves.

yep. just did mine. couldnt figure out what it was. check your carb tho. it sounded like a carb problem at first. it started great, i rode it not even a half mile and it cut out. let it sit, itd do the same thing all over. re shimed the valves now it runs better then ever. its cheap to. like 30 bucks.
