Hey lt250_joe
Hey I noticed on one of your threds that you have a lt250r and a 525 outlaw. I grew up on the lt250r and then didn't ride for a long time. I am now riding a 525 outlaw and I often wondered how the lt 250r and the 525 outlaw would compare. since you have both you would be the perfect guy to ask. So?

You cant give a fair comparison between 80's technology and present technology!!!! Voilent 2-stroke power with sh!# brakes and mediocre suspension dont compare to IRS, hydraulic clutch, stainless brake lines w/vented rotors, electric start, REVERSE, KTM power and......I dont have to mix my fuel.
Do you smell the 2-stroke smoke????
I'll take the zuke over the outlaw anyday.........LOL!!!

I have an LT250R but its an 85, So it's a case reed engine and no powervalve. I bought it as a project but tearing it down I found it needed everything from a new swingarm, every bearing, jug was bored to the max and piston had been destroyed. So I bought a complete 85 engine from a guy in CA and it was no better. The cases were a little better and the Jug had no scores but had been bored to the max. I had already had the frame painted and was powdercoating the A arms, but i just lost interest in it due to the cost of restoring it. So I'm just parting it out.
I guess I'll put the stuff on Ebay eventually.

Post it on quadracerhq. Those guys love the 85-86's because that is the lightest year and easiest to drop a zilla motor in.

If I could find a nice powervalve engine that could be bored and had a good crank I would put it together. How fast is the LT with the powervalve.

Powervalve gives it a more useable powerband. Pulls harder across a wider rpm range. Used from 87-92.
