Has anyone polished their ignition cover with a dremel tool? Is it better than using sand paper?

Posted by: nick249420

i polished both sides of my cases

i used 400 grit wet sand paper then switched to a 1000 grit wet sand paper till it looks like stainless steel

then get a dremel with a polishing wheel and some polishing compound

each side of my case took me about 1 30 mins

then i clear coated them and after 2 rides and one race they still bling

I went to every hardware store in town, and I cannot find a fine grit bit. What did you use for the finish? I used the kit the came with my dremel but still not shiny enough!

Ah, I see...
I was hoping not to do any sanding by hand, and just use the dremel tool to do the work lol.

if your looking for a dremel tool bit - the best i found is at home depot they are like $4 for 2 called #511 Abrasive Buffs wheels

they work great for all buffing areas
