Loosening coils on elkas shocks

Now, I am looking to make my ride hight lower, if I wear to loosen up the coils a little bit, would the shocks become very soft?

btw-these are elka tripple rates on burgard a-arms, standard travel, if that helps.

loosening the preload on a shock does make it softer.

Yeah, thats what I figured, any suggestions on lowering the front end?
