Just seen the new Dirt Wheels shows the new trx250r chain drive, 4 valve head? It looks pretty sweet but retail is around $6000!

It's not their april fools joke, the quad exists but doesn't look like that and isn't going into production yet. The article shows what it could look like and what it would be priced at if honda decided to build it. It seem that almost every manufacturer has a 250 prototype The article is about who will be the first to offer a quad lite, then all of the companies will follow.

Suzuki already has their LTR250 4 stroke 250 motorthats pretty darn fast. Its thwe same as he LTR450 but its a 250 motor. Its not into production buts its made and actually works and runs. It wont surprise me if you see Honda come out with 1 eventually.

no they mean with a crf250r type motor in a trx250r but chain driven, to be a LITES class

If you read the article you can see it's not a joke. There is some great info on how these 250's would be priced pretty high and the reason you can't buy one now is because the jap companies aren't sold on people spending big bucks to have a quad lite. It will happen but will take either KTM or Suzuki IMO. Both of those companies want to make a big statement in quad racing and honda and yamaha are ready to put one into production if they are successful. The article was written to bring some attention to the public and maybe get people to show that they would buy one. If people voice interest maybe honda or yamaha will be the first to offer a quad lite. Dirt Wheels did this in hopes that it will make the quad sport grow. Even QUAD magazine stated that an LT-R 250 would be built this year, but it never happened. Obviously QUAD is a little more fact driven than Dirt Wheels so there must be some validity to this rumor.

ha this kid makes me laugh. You dont understand here buddy.

Liquid cooled, all gas shocks, body and frame as big as the 450, and its 249CC. In other words its a dirtbike motor and its fast! Suzuki has the LTR250 made like I said but its not in production.
