250x and 300ex have different clutch cables?

alright, on ebay I bought a lever/cable set which I was told was a 250x, thought they were the same, its got the p-brake, clutch, and reverse lock out cables. and I dont know what other quad has the same lever/cable setup. but when I put the end of the clutch cable in the link, the cable stay or whatever it is called is too far towards the left of the bike so the cable wont reach. if I put the cable in the bracket first, the end is a good ways away from the clutch arm. I looked at my sisters 300 and the cable extends much further out of the cable sleeve than mine. did i get one from a different bike than advertised opr are the cables indeed different?

its true! they are indeed different cables...
I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago.

I bought a used 300ex clutch cable for my 250x (thinking they were interchangable). didnt work.

then I bought an OEM cable from Honda. (supposedly for the 250X). it was the same cable that I got used(above). didnt work.

so after getting 2 cables that didnt fit, I called up the place where I got the OEM...the guy said sometimes the wrong part comes in the correct bag...he ordered me a new one for free.

WAHLAH!! finally I got the 3rd cable and it fit like a charm!

so if anyone needs a 300EX clutch cable... I have 2 I'll sell for cheap, let me know.

Ill send you a used 250x for a spare as a trade for your used 300ex cable. or how much you want for the new one?

yeah, I was going to put them on ebay but I'll sell you the new one for 15 shipped. (only CONUS)

Im watching another cable/lever set off a new 300 that looks to end cheap and is much nicer than what I got, if I lose it Ill get back to you and see if you still got the cable, if you have another buyer though dont hold it just for me.
