Hey i just picked up a yfz today and i went to go put in oil and i saw this red wire thing inside the crank. I didnt know if its supposed to be there or what. Also the quad was a project and i still havent started it so i dont even know if it runs or not, but the guy said it ran fine before taken apart.

im not going to say that its NOT supposed to be there, but stock yfz's dont have that....that doesn't mean its not fine though. the red could just be something aftermarket??

I don't ever remember seing that there . Pull that stator cover off and see what it is. Shouldn't take you a few mins to pull it off. Whatever it is it could or possibly has damaged your stator.

i dont think i see anything like that dude

Does it have a kill switch with red wiring? Looks like the wires into the stator have some 'aftermarket electrical tape' on em.

^^^ that could be true i noticed that too...but mine also has electrical tape simply because it's been taken apart before and the original "boot" type wire covering was coming off so i didnt say anything...but thats somethin to check as well.
