I have a 2003 400ex with elka shocks on the front that may have dropped my front end some. I have 22-7-10 on the front and they look large and akward to me with the 20-11-9 on the back. I ride mainly trails and didn't know if 21s or 20s on the front would make a difference. Also how would 19s or 18s perform on the rear. Would they be too little or ride rough? Any pictures of your setup would be appreciate.

since you ride trails i wouldnt go too small on the tire size because then you not going to have any clearance but i would stick with the 20" rear and if they look large on the front maybe go down one size. im not sure what the stock size is i think its 21 but if it is then look at some 20's

I trail ride with 20's on back & 23's in front.

I roll with 21" rears and 23" fronts. If you're a trail rider and you want to even things out a little you should consider leaving the fronts and getting the 21" rears. The added clearance has been nice. Also I don't know if you've dialed in the rear shock but you want about 50% sag in it. It's wound quite a bit tighter then that from the factory and when you give it proper sag it will lower a little like your front did.
