looking at switching from my R to a kfx and just wondering how all you guys that switched from honda liked the change.

Posted by: pudamac12

went back to my honda

Posted by: spincr4hire

if it wasn't for starting/restarting issues and valve issues I probably would have stuck with the Honda, but I really like the KFX, low end power and throttle response is awesome.

i love my kawi....
it makes me fast..
and it has reverse...

Posted by: atvrider23054

dont waste ur money if u ant more power ur not getting it with the kfx i would go with the yfz or ktm

Posted by: mod440ex

hw do you figure your not going to get any power out of the kawi, just curious.

Posted by: 450raider

yeah peoples always gonna suggest what they have and bash (or attempt to) everything else but ill just keep with my story... i love the kawi, size em up and go with what you want, people fear what they dont understand, the kawi dont need any endorsements anyway it does fine on its own, ect. ect.

NOT TO GOOD. Its hit or miss so far this year.

Posted by: 450raider

how did the kawi do? was that legit or sarcasm either way i dont care but ill answer anyway, for a first season racer not too bad in the hands of one josh creamer hes stayed pretty neutral never really being up front or stuck in the back and on the last race when he scored 4th whether anyone likes it or not, he kept natalie and a few others on their toes so i wouldnt call that bad, and lastly if someones gonna base a $6500+ decision on whos riding what and why, dont even bother.

Posted by: TheNewn

It was an honest question, i dont really keep up with race news. In my opinion i realize the KFX is new but if it was that good it seems like it would have won at least one race? the 450R won the championship. Not taking into account riders and whatever.

I'm sure excuses could be made, but the KFX not winning a race last year (from what your response was) says something about them.

i dont put much stock in magazines but when all the shoot outs say the kfx is lowest on power its not a good selling point

I like my 450r but if I had to chose a diff brand it would not be kawasaki (top 3 would be)

1. ktm
2. yfz
3. ltr

Posted by: 450raider

ok fair enough, but i will say i expect creamer/kawi to be a top contender this year with the big obstacle for anyone will be team zuki im not sure about canams people (again itll be their first year) but then again that may mean nothing but if it sucks that dont automatically mean the machine/rider sucks, their just getting finely tuned

Posted by: 450rJam

I dont put alot of stock in pro race results either

look what gust was doing on the z400

and if you put natalie on a kfx he would still be hard to beat

(if ktm can be as reliable as his honda was natalie will be champion again this year)

Posted by: 08kfx450r

i thought natalie was can am this year?

Posted by: mod440ex

doug gust's z400 was a 449cc motor. so it was pretty much a 450. and about the only thing stock untouched on a pro quad is the ??????? well ok they pretty much touch everything, so comparing race quad to race quad is more like comparing builder to builder.

Posted by: 08kfx450r

it comes down to who's the better rider, seeing as how every pro race bike is completely aftermarket with essentially the same components aside from the engine & who builds it...and as far as creamer and kawi goes i wouldn't in the least bit be suprised to see him in the top 5 of the wpsa atleast

Posted by: 08mxkfx

i would love to see 1 race with everyone on the same exact bike!

Posted by: mod440ex

yeah that would be a great race, kinda like the bud shoot out at daytona

Posted by: 450rJam

that would be sooooo cool

dont care what brand atv either

imagine the money they could make for some charity, maybe a short circuit and they could run ltr's in cali then yfz's in vegas maybe trx's in missouri and kfx in jersey etc.

if they could work the bugs out of something like that, I would buy the dvd or pay-per-view

Posted by: mod440ex

no way just have them air it on like espn for the great outdoor games or x games. that would the shiznit

Posted by: billdogg

Good idea, but it would never happen with sponsorship conflicts.

Posted by: mod440ex

in a perfect world maybe

Posted by: #17YFZRACER

i dont see why everyone judges a bike on what the pros do with them. the difference between "our" bikes and "their" bikes is huge. if you want to judge on racing do it in the class you race in, and if your in the pro class more power to you. the truth is there isnt a bad 450 made. you need to pick it on comfort and other things.
