honestly speaking are there problems withe the 04 yfz because i want to save money because i am on a budget of 4200. and found a 04 for 3800, rear holeshots, jetted, and kandn filter, dg bumper, and nerfs wat do you think because i DON NOT WANT a bike that will have problems

The 04's are known for blowing the decompression plug, and some have charging issues. Upgrade the battery and run with the headlights on high, and replace the plug with an aftermarket unit and you'll be good to go.

In my opinion, unless its extremely good condition, that price is a bit high for the 04 YFZ. Like any first year models there are some problems.

I think in the end, if you save up for a used 06, you'll be much happier. You're not that far away, i think you could find a good deal on a used 06 for 4200.

Just my opinion, on a YFZ you don't want anything under 06.

I just had teh decompression plug problem....they cost $13.00 for an aftermarket one.....i still have my 04 n the thing rips. n 3800 is pretty steep!! get him down to 3500 n it;ll be a decent buy i'd think!! just an opinion!!
