I have a 2002 400ex yes it is pretty fast and I love honda atvs. But I am an adrenaline junkie I always liked the thought of having a suzuki lt500 but I did'nt like the fact of a suzuki being parked in my garage. Plus I heard that they are crap and are constantly having trouble. So I have come up with what I think is a master plan to build the quad of my dreams. I want to take my ex and install a cr500 engine. It will be just for trail riding and waxing my buddies *****es except for one who rides a cr500. any info, help, orinput would be nice.
Any input will help!!!!!!!!!!

i know there is a guy on the LT forums that put a zilla motor in his ex, and someone posted pics of thier CR500 ex in the LT or Ktm thread, 3rd page.
i'd call it red rocket

Been there done that.
I woudnt recomend doing it, espicaly for trail riding, WAY too much motor for the trails. The motor almost bolts in, you need to make new mounts and find a spot for the raidiator, other than that its easy. What are you doing to do for a pipe?
For a hybrid its easy, but still not a slimple drop in, Then the engine vibrates like crazy. I dont feel it when i ride but the bike shure does, im constantly loosing nuts and bolts.

well thats kinda the point of a 500 motor swap right? way way too much power
i trail ride my hybrid, just have to watch the throttle....
the guy that has the zilla / ex hybrid, the Doc Q hybrid pipe fit. i think CT also makes a pipe... the silencer stinger needs to be ~ twice the size of a 250 setup.
