does anyone have information on what fcr carb to run on 300ex?how much better is it than 400ex carb?is sparks racing the best place to get 1 or does someone else carry them?

Im running one of the earlier fcr carbs from the 98 yz400 on my 300ex.I have a slightly smaller(37mm)fcr carb from a yz250f but i havent gotten around to experimenting with it yet.You'll find them cheaper off eturd because you'll pay $500 for one from a aftermarket co.Whatever model bike you get yours from be it a kx250f,crf or whatever,a yamaha yzf450 throttle cable will work on ALL of them with your 300ex thumb throttle.

I was gonna say the crf250x had(may still, not sure what years) a 37mm, and 2much I guess i got my answer on what size carb you are running. forget the question in the other thread.

i think the cr250f had a 41mm carb starting in 06,that wou;ld probably be a bit big for a 300ex but who knows..

if I remember right, its the R that has the 41, not the X, X has a 37. my brother has an 06 X and im almost positive its a 37.

what you should do is pay 400.00 to sparks racing and have them make you a 35 mm. they will get it to you asap or whenever they want to.
