Alright so a friend of mine bought a yfz off the local dealership that a guy raced with and if i can remember correctly his dad bought it for him for about 6000 in cash. It's been sitting for about a year with the engine seized up. He said he wants it gone and said for like 500 dollars. It had a problem when it was running with the oil squirters and after that it just stopped. About how much am I looking to spend on parts to fix this problem?

well i had the same thing happen to me. it cost $3800 to get it like mine and was $3600 for stock. make sure you get a J and t oil pump upgrade its the new oil pumps in the 07s and 08s and solves the problem of the oil pump stopping.

j and t oil pumps? and did all the parts cost u that much or the entire quad?

500 for the complete quad?
you can pick up an 05 engine for 1500 or so and be good to go.even 2k for an engine and your still well ahead.or you can take it to your local bike shop and spend 1k to get the bottom end done.

$500 for a complete quad is a steal, I would have handed the guy $500 right after he said he would sell it for that price.

just a frame alone goes for that much if its nice.

So how long did it take for you to receive the case back after you sent it to them?

Man for that price i wouldnt even worry about what it cost to fix it. about 3 months ago i bought a 450R for $1000 with the motor in pieces. Right now i have right at $1400 in the whole quad and ride the wheels off of it every sunday..........it was well worth the $1400 bucks to keep my almost all white race quad away from that nasty trail mud haha
