Gas tank question???

Ok this has got to be one of the most retarded questions to ask but here goes..... How do you know if you have an IMS tank or a stock tank??? The Gas cap says IMS on it and seems kinda big on the sides and maybe a tad higher on the top.... Also my front end plastic seems to buldge on the sides.... Maybe its just me... I got this quad with the tank on it so im just checking...

i heard that ims actually makes beer reserve on there tanks so that is what it might be........ask blysster..........

Well the quad is a 87 TRX 250x but it has the maier race front end plastic that is one piece.... The sides bow out from the tank being wide.... Also i noticed on the tank it has TRX molded on it where the seat fits up aganst it....

Well if its stock i will live with it until i get new plastic... But if it is an IMS tank i will be looking for a stock tank....

i think that the 250x had steel tank when they came stock from the factory but i could be wrong and yes it proble is a ims tank that you proble trade someone for a stocker.

Yeah if its plastic it isnt stock. and i think u can only get black IMS for that model. so its prob. ims

Thats what i thought.... I wasnt sure but i figured it was a IMS tank... The tank is a Red plastic one... If some one might be interested in it i'll get pics and i can email them to ya.... Also i might trade for a stock tank if anyone has a good stock tank.... I dont need a tank this big... But thanks for the help guys and not laughing to hard at me.....lol.....

If you wanna trade tanks, I will. Post a pic so I can see it. It might be a tank that is for another model and that is why it is bulging the plastic out on the sides.

Metal tanks crack. Keep the IMS if you trade anyone you are getting screwed royally in the long run.

Ok guys i will get some pics of the tank in a few days or so... The only reason im looking for a stock tank is i dont like the way it pushes the sides out on my plastic... Call me crazy and i know that tank cost a few bucks but i need to be happy with what i want to put on it and how it looks... So if you guys might want to trade for stock i may just do that. Ya Call me a sucker.....

thats right they had steel tanks because a 250x and a 300ex are identical except for 50 more cc's.

keep the tank, they have mor capacity, they dont rist and trust me the plastic doesnt crack like the shnitty steel ones, like mine is cracked, but im gettin it welded.
