I been thinking of doing another motor swap this spring with a gsxr motor.

Which quad frames fit them motors best with out having to cut the frame rails? I just want to have to make new motor mounts and be done.

Anytime you install a Street bike engine into something its going to need some cutting and reinforce work.

Id look for a banshee frame, or a raptor frame, raptor frame seems kinda tall to mwe like it woulsd fiy the air box and all the easiest, and tyhe banshee already has a fairly wide engine compared to most singles. ive seen it in a banshee in person once and didnt look crammed at all, but they ditched the air bopx, and seen it on the web lots in banshees and a couple times in raptors. saw a pic of it in a yfz but it looked really cramped and would suck to work on.

I wouldn't attemp a project like that without a custom frame. A buddy of mine has a CBR929RR motor in a custom quad chassis and it hauls the friggin mail!!! Pretty good duner too.

I wanted to put it in a 400ex frame. Does any one know how many inches tall and wide and long a gsxr motor is? What I want to do is build a quad set up for MX and put big XC tires on it. I want to still be able to jump it and go in woops with out the frame busting. I dont know the weight but the motor looks like it would be around 200lbs but im just guessing that.

Any one know of some links of gsxr quad builds or any quads with a street bike motor in em?

I dont think theres any way it weighs 200 lbs. not sure what size you are talking about but i have a triumph daytona 600 engine on my porch right now and I can pick it up and haul it around myself, its tough but i wouldnt say 200lbs tough, but easily over 100. and i doubt a trumph is gonna weigh less than a suzuki. they are heavy but a 400ex engine isnt light by any means. so once they were swapped it wouldnt be the hugest increase, still probably weigh barely over a 660 raptor...

For the gas tank I'm thinking of building a aluminum tank shaped like a air box and put it in place of the stock air box since the intake will be where the factory gas tank would have been.

Any one know of links?
