Good gusset plan?

i will be gusseting my swinger soon and this is a rough scetch of what i think would be the best way. black is the swinger yellow is the gusset. i will probably only do the top (i dont have a wide variaty of steel)What do you think?

I took a 1 inch x 3/16 piece on the bottom all the away up the swinger

Hi ,If its the round one, you should watch out for the pivot tube (front) will bend. I made my son's so it wouldn't bend and the pivot tube bent instead. It was ridden very little. The square tube ones are really nice! Good luck!

just go to home depot and get a length of flat bar and weld it on the bottom of the swing arm not the top, you need to stand the flat bar up as you have illustrated in your post , trust me this will be more than sufficiant and you do need to add a piece of either square or round tubing between the pivot tube and the swing arm ill see if i can post some pics later of our swing arm

i hope you havn't welded this yet, the shock bolt won't go through with out cutting your gusset. i did the same style gusset to my square tube swing-arm just a little shorter so the bolt would go thruogh. i aslo only did the top gusset because it doesn't have a problem bending up.
