my son races his stock typhoon 125. but not stock for long. tierd of watchin him go from first to 3 because he is getting pulled by modified 2 strokes down the straight away. looking at these for tires possibly. Also goingot get elka shocks for motocross, and possilby put a 150 pitster pro pitbike engine in it. any thoughts

rear tire

front tire

thinking about these two motors

gpx 150

and

gpx 124

Those tires would be good for TT or flat track but probably not MX unless it is a really hard packed track. The 150 engine is probably going to be hard to find a pipe that will fit. That has a KLX style head and I don't know how it would fit in the frame. I will pm you about the other engine though.

you need to get better aarms, a better pipe, and a race head.wolfpack racing just came out with a new head and pipe for the typhoon that work awesome and they also sell aarms for it too. their phone number is 219-226-3215 if you want to give them a call.

I can't find a-arms, anyone?? A phone #, website and or price would be great!

i just put on the duro 247 on the rear for flat track. got them from rmatv for $120.00 thats with 2 douglas blue label rims also. tires are 18x9.5x8. rims are 4/110 8x8. these tires are huge compared to thestock tires. if i had known they would be that tall i would have bought some american racer 16's but they are about $100.00 apiece for tires only. my sons second race is sat. so well see how he does. there is no way a stock 125 is going to compete with a modded 2 stroke. my son is going to finish the next four races in this series and im going to install the hp piston, cam, carb and have the head ported.

Put a Lifan 140 in it and the 2 strokes will have a rough time hanging with you. It will have the power to pull those 18's with taller gearing than stock. Bolts right in.
Better check to see if your track will let you race with a manual clutch though.

Jaybird, did you have to drill the top motor mount on the engine to a larger diameter size hole to match the Typhoon bolt?

Posted by: Jaybird

Nah, I went the easy route and used a smaller bolt. I did modify the upper mount to make it easier to pull/install the motor. I will try to get a pic later.

well i fixed his power problem. I put my pitbike motor in his typhoon. so he now has a 146 in it. on the pavement with me on it i can roast the tires and powerslide. so it should rip with him on it.
