250r steering stop needed?

I'm in the process of building a 250r with a lonestar baja frame I found. This frame has the steering stop cut off down at the steering stem bearing. I don't have much experience with the 250r so is it necessary to have some sort of steering stop or do some guys just remove them completely? If so what is the advantage and am I going to wreck anything else by not having one? Do some of the steering stabilizers eliminate the need for the mechanical stop?

i'd have a stop installed on it.

I'd put a steering stop back on. My Arens has a stop, yet the tires still rub the a-arms long before the stem hits the stop. I assume it has to do with the +1 forward design of the arms. It takes all the pc off and almost rubs on the brake lines.
