Stupid question about kickstarter

I had to take off my rightside engine cover to put an oil injection block off kit on my 99' Blaster. When I took off the case, I heard a snap, from the kickstart spring I guess??? I can't see anywhere that the spring is supposed to sit to hold it in place, hell, it might even have come completely unraveled? When putting the case back on, how exactly are you supposed to go about making the spring engage? It turns the motor over when I push it down, but it doesn't pop back up????? HELP! I can't get a manual around here, gotta order it from ebay tonight.

thats funny cause i had the same problem i heard it spring off and i was like oh sh** ha but thank goodness i had the manual

i had the same problem and then i just took the starter shaft off and then i was able to get it on there right but then i saw that it worked alot better, i just used my fingers and i got it right on.
