EX to XR Crankshaft/Trans Swap

Just wondering if anyone has swapped their EX crankshaft or transmission over to an XR. I considering doing the swap to reduce rotating mass (since the XR crankshaft is narrower due to lack of electric start). And I've been told the XR transmission is geared better for motocross. I know I will also have to convert over to kickstart at the same time. I know Steve #7 has done the trans swap, just wondering if anyone else has any experience. Thanks, Jereme

I don't know about the swap but have you thought about lightening the flywheel to reduce rotating mass? And maybe it's possible to just switch out some of the tranny gears to get the 'better MX' gearing.
